Jalian had been putting this off. She was aware of that. She had actually come to appreciate her time in Fandom and the people here, odd as it all was, and the prospect of risking her life to travel a neg entropy timeline again was...unappealing.

But living in Fandom and seeing this time also meant she'd gotten a better idea of the lives Armageddon had cut short, and as stupid as some of them were, she had no intention of letting that happen.

(And ghess'Rith had still abandoned her.)

So, new Doorway strapped to her back, she was waiting for the portal that would return her to her own timeline, from which she would do as she'd originally planned. JARVIS had helped her with adjustments, and the island wouldn't be stealing her away this time. She stood a better chance of survival, too.

This time, she would make it through.

The Doorway was heavy, an intricate mass of electronics and adapted alien technology that had taken the clan months to build. When they found she had stolen it, they would probably kill her. Or perhaps only exile.
